I've always been partial to patriotic things, and this tree is one of my favorites! To the right, you see Abe Lincoln and George Washington, from Prairie Schooler #160--February. They are finished with various pieces of patriotic fabric and different star buttons. Also in this photo is Liberty, a freebie from Lizzie Kate, stitched on Aida with a cute navy gingham ribbon hanger and backed with bandana print.
The tree is topped with mini flags and red star ornaments hang on it, as well as patriotic fabric pinwheels with button centers.
This section has "July's Liberty Star" freebie from Rainbow Gallery/Erica Michaels and Deck the Halls with Stars & Stripes freebie from Vivian Bales. (I left off the "deck the halls" words.) Also shown is 4th of July Quaker style freebie by Aury TM.
This photo shows America Sailing Sloop freebie from Rainbow Gallery & Needl Love and USA Celebration Flag freebie from Tink Boord-Dill.The tree is topped with mini American flags and also a cute "July's Stars of Freedom" from Rainbow Gallery/Erica Michaels. It's stitched on pale blue Aida and has a little star button. The hanger is twisted wire with beads on it.
And finally, I have another view of "Stars of Freedom" and a little photo of my father from WWII. I know that Memorial Day honors those that were lost serving their country, and he was not lost then, but I just have to put this out when patriotic days are observed. He had 2 brothers that also served in WWII and I plan to put their photos on, as well.
You can see that I love the ornaments, especially, and I hope to stitch on a few more while this tree is up! I have some really cute patterns and ideas. Stay tuned to see how it all comes together!
Reminder!! My giveaway deadline is tomorrow and a winner will be chosen! Don't miss out on registering! I can't wait to see who wins and get their package mailed off!
Thanks for visiting, and come back soon!
Frances

I love, love, love your patriotic tree. It is full of such wonderful themed stitched pieces.
Your patriotic tree looks fabulous with all your pieces! Where did you find your pinwheels?
Robin in Virginia
Robin, a friend showed me how to make them using 2 pieces of fabric with a sheet of something stiffening ironed between them. She cut them into squares and then made several diagonal cuts and you bring some points to the center and secure with a button. That is a TERRIBLE description!!! But that's what we basically did! HA
Oh my!! I have never seen anything like this before.. Ha ha guess that is because I live in England! What a wonderful way to celebrate, share and remember Memorial Day/weekend. Your tree is really beautifully decorated.. I can see why you like it.. It's so colorful and very patriotic. Just wish we had something like this in England.
Smiles to you :) xx
I also love your tree! Patriotic things are my second favorite thing to stitch, the first being Christmas things. I have a little patriotic tree but no stitched ornaments on it. I must change that : )
Your Patriotic tree is so wonderful. What a lovely, thoughtful way to celebrate.

I love your seasonal trees! I love the patriotic cross stitch ornaments! I will be on the hunt for many of the designs to stitch for myself. Thanks for the inspiration! Happy Memorial Day!
Love your patriotic tree and all those wonderful designs. We seem to miss out on things like this here in the UK.
